Photos. One of part of the ‘old’ city walls, one looking through a stone they used to stick flagpoles through to hold them out over the edge of the walls. Neither of them spectacular.

Studying More
I’ve decided to cut my hours down at work, to mornings only, so I can do more Chinese study. I’ve been getting increasingly restless at work, as I’m no longer on any kind of learning curve. When I started it was great, and it’s done wonders for my Chinese reading – exposed me to lots of things I would never read normally, including on one day last week, documents on both fungus and diamonds.
However now I find that everything that crosses my desk is really pretty dull, and that combined with a general sloppiness in the company (‘You missed the deadline!’ – ‘You didn’t tell me there was one’ – ‘Oh.’) which gets on my nerves means that I will more than happily go there a bit less. There’ll be a drop in income of course, but even on my planned 15 hours I will need to make little or no inroads into savings, plus I have money coming in from elsewhere.
I’m looking forward to studying more.
